Santa Maria Consolata ai Due Colli is a 21st century public chapel at Via Bulzi near its junction with Via Borutta, which is in a suburban locality called Due Colli. This is part of the Borghesiana suburban district.

The dedication is to the Blessed Virgin Mary, under her title of "Our Lady of Consolation".

History Edit

The neighbourhood arose from illegally sub-divided farmland which became an unplanned suburb in the Sixties. There was a lot of this sort of thing in the locality at the time. In response, the parish of Santa Maria della Fiducia opened several chapels-of-ease in the latter part of the 20th century. One was in this suburb, Santa Maria della Provvidenza ai Due Colli at Via Badesi 31.

However the chapel was quite a disgraceful little shack and it was replaced by a more substantial prefab in around 2016. The location chosen had been zoned as a public recreation ground.

Appearance Edit

The chapel is part of a little social centre on a triangular plot. It is a concrete slab prefab, in dull red with a pitched and tiled roof. The roof is brought forward over the entrance on struts to create an entrance canopy.

Liturgy Edit

Mass is celebrated on Sundays and Solemnities at 9:00.
