Santa Chiara al Centro di Produzione della RAI di Saxa Rubra is a late 20th century dependent chapel of the parish of Santa Maria Immacolata a Grottarossa , and is located at Largo Villy De Luca in Saxa Rubra, just south-east of the junction between the Via Flaminia and the Grande Raccordo Anulare (Circonvallazione Settentrionale). This is in the Grottarossa suburban zone.

The dedication is to St Clare, because she is the patron of everybody to do with television.

History Edit

This is the chapel for the Centro di Produzione della RAI studio complex of the Radiotelevisione Italiana, the Italian public television corporation. This was begun in 1987, and completed in 1990. The architect was Roberto Panella.

The complex was renamed after Biagio Agnes in 2011.

Appearance Edit

The chapel has no separate architectural identity, but has its own entrance.

The most important artwork here is an impressive and spectacular stained glass window depicting Mater Salvatoris by Giuseppe Rogolino. A picture of it is here.

Liturgy Edit

The chapel is not served by the local parish clergy, but has its own chaplain. He is Msgr. Antonio Interguglielmi.

The liturgy here seems to be on an "as and when" basis, and is not public.
